Machining Team Member - MCL - 2nd Shift

About The Position

We have an opportunity for a MCL Machine Shop Team Member to be based in Columbus, GA. (onsite role), The full-time schedule is second shift Mon-Thur 4:00PM to 2:30AM. Machining specimens may include: Perform daily walk arounds to prior to machining Receive-in and examining integrals, slugs or specimens for accuracy Sort/work priorities as needed Comply with all training required, including Quality procedures as well as MCL Manuals and Standard Work. Log specimens in UGA part tracker Set up and operate CNC and other process equipment in an assigned area. Need to ensure that machines stay running so from time-to-time minor maintenance might be needed. Set up and operate basic machine tools to repair, make minor alterations and make the less complicated tooling. Perform basic shop mathematics and use basic measurement instruments. Assist in the development of other team members. Ensure outgoing specimens meet J section specifications Ensure receiver number, shop dimensions, and alloy data matches the envelope Follow blueprints, Work Instructions and GBMOP to mark locations accurately Other duties: Perform 6s each shift Engage in safe process optimization to allow success of production/quality goals while achieving and maintaining cost savings Complete all training within the expected time given

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 2+ years of work experience in machining and/or quality manufacturing
  • Must be willing to work the scheduled shift and may need to train on an alternate shift.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years’ experience in quality/aerospace machining environment.
  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and quality procedures.
  • Understanding of internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
  • Good organizational skills.
