As a 2nd shift Team Leader in our Machining Department, you’ll be a key player in maintaining a smooth flow between shifts, fostering a culture of teamwork, and ensuring that production goals are completed on a timely basis without compromising safety or quality.

Requirements

  • SAP or other ERP system experience, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
  • Strong skills in leadership, communication, collaboration, and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
  • Inventory control and material handling
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in CNC machining required
  • Previous leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP Applications and MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Monitor team members to ensure they are being safe, punctual, and executing their assigned job role(s)
  • Communicate shift updates, production status, and any issues to management and/or incoming shifts
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate issues to the Machining Supervisor as needed
  • Assure that scheduled workloads are completed on a timely basis following all directives, standard operating procedures, and work instructions
  • Lead by example and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Train and mentor team members, helping them achieve expected job performance, develop technical skills, and grow in their roles
  • Participate in the annual review process of assigned staff
  • Help conduct corrective action training to overcome known errors as needed
  • Communicate with internal cross functional teams to ensure seamless process flows
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed
  • Utilize SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applicable software
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine
  • Set up, load, and operate CNC machines to produce parts per prints
  • Edit in G-code and manually program using Mazatrol Control or other applicable machine control
  • Set up fixtures and come up with setups on the machine
  • Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections
  • Set up cutters in holders and adjust height and length
  • Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances
  • Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements
  • Use various hand tools to finish parts and check
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met
  • Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S)
  • Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixtures and other essential equipment
  • Operate various machines in the department as needed
