About The Position

The Machining Team Associate uses a variety of machines and equipment to remove metal from or fabricate products from castings or raw materials, producing finished goods with the characteristics and dimensions required to meet customer expectations. The associate follows process documentation and performs quality checks using gauges and other measuring devices, manages tool changes and usage, and works with the team to meet safety, quality, and production goals. The position operates within a team-based work system, rotates job routines as needed, and completes work with minimal supervision. The role also includes routine housekeeping and machine cleaning, planned operator care and maintenance, rework and scrap transactions, control of nonconforming materials, and highlighting needed updates to process documentation. The associate collects and displays operating data, uses problem-solving techniques, participates in improvement projects and training, and communicates with the assigned team and support teams. Material handling equipment, including hoists and forklifts, is used to move parts and skids. The associate must comply with departmental, site, and company policies, including the proper use of required PPE, and remain flexible to perform other duties as required. This is a second-shift special assignment. Candidates are selected through a resume and interview process and must attend an on-shift orientation. Successful applicants move to the role on the third Monday after selections are posted and must remain in the position for at least 18 months before regaining bid rights. At the end of that period, the employee may be made permanent without reposting the position.
