About The Position

As our 1st Shift Machining Lead, you’ll manage the CNC equipment that allows us to build our gravity-defying products. You’ll ensure our equipment is operating at optimal levels and our machining team is trained and meeting our tight tolerances. You’ll make an immediate impact manufacturing operations by acting as the first point of contact for questions and troubleshooting related to the machining process, training, leading, mentoring, and motivating the machining team, assuring manufacturing and quality control programs are followed to ensure the finished products meet our quality demands and standards, overseeing the operations to ensure machines are working properly and being maintained, and working with maintenance to prevent and reduce time on machines.

Requirements

4+ years of CNC machining experience and machine shop mathematics
4+ years of experience with precision grinding
1+ years of experience training and mentoring team members in a machining environment
In depth knowledge of various machining measuring and inspection tools, gauges and dial calipers
Ability to read part drawings
Strong troubleshooting, team building, decision making and people management skills
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to work well with technical and non-technical people
Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations
Be obsessed with continuous improvement and not afraid to try new things
Comfortable working in an industrial plant environment and being hands-on and frequently active on the plant floor
Have a start-up mentality and be energized at the idea of wearing multiple hats and holistically managing processes
Be professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible and well-organized
Be results driven and of unquestionable integrity
Strong command of Microsoft Office products
Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and products weighing up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds occasionally
Stand or walk for extended periods (8–12-hour shifts) on concrete or other hard surfaces
Perform frequent repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, and gripping
Use hands and fingers to handle small parts, operate tools or controls, and assemble products with precision
Visually inspect products for defects, labels, or measurements
Distinguish sounds such as machinery alarms, beeps, or spoken instructions in a noisy environment
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear

Responsibilities
