General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Machining Cell Tech to join our Scranton, PA Team. Medical, dental vision, 401k and many other benefits. Purpose: Works in the Production Shop operating a variety of machines in the rough turn area. Cell Technicians will produce parts in tolerance at the rate required by each operation.

Requirements

  • Required Education: Degree from a college or technical school or any combination of education, training or work related.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift and must be able to train on 1st shift for a period of 45 days.
  • Must have excellent written and communication skills, basic math skills and be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely rotate through cell to operate multiple rough turn machines as well as walking beams, center drill and cut off machine to manufacture product at the established rate of production.
  • Regularly set up, install, replace, and remove tooling.
  • Measure all manufactured products accurately through lifting, pulling, pushing followed by applying proper technique to hand measuring tools, template gages, flush pin gages and other product related measuring equipment.
  • Work with and follow Basic Rules of Manufacturing, General Dynamics OTS Environmental, ISO Documentation, Quality Policies, and other work-related documents.
  • Demonstrate common safety practices associated with the manufacturing environment and the use of hand or industrial equipment.
  • Required to recognize problems, make corrective adjustments and/or notify appropriate supervision.
