About The Position

Noblis MSD is a trusted engineering and technical partner to the U.S. Navy, supporting Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). Our teams deliver research and development, test and evaluation, systems engineering, acquisition support, systems integration, in-service engineering, fleet support, cybersecurity, logistics, and life-cycle engineering solutions that help ensure the readiness and reliability of the Navy's surface ships and submarines. Noblis MSD is seeking an Engineer to support submarine auxiliary and machinery control systems. In this role, you will perform hands-on engineering, testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation for critical submarine propulsion and auxiliary systems. This position offers a combination of laboratory testing, shipboard support, and collaborative engineering work in support of the U.S. Navy's submarine fleet.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree OR High school diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent and minimum 6 years of engineering experience in the operation, test, and maintenance of naval ship Navigation Systems, Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic (HM&E) equipment and systems
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting naval ship blueprints and technical manual drawings
  • Ability to produce artwork suitable for inclusion in technical documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot challenging technical issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen; DoD Secret clearance desired. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required.

  • Direct experience with submarine auxiliary/machinery systems (SSTG, hotwell, propulsion controls)

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory and shipboard testing, troubleshooting, and analysis of submarine auxiliary machinery control systems, including propulsion controls, indicator drive units, and hotwell control systems.
  • Develop, execute, review, and revise engineering test plans, procedures, and test reports.
  • Analyze Fleet technical information, including Fleet messages, engineering advisories, and casualty reports, to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, and artwork for technical manuals.
  • Provide engineering support for the design, installation, modification, maintenance, repair, and operation of submarine auxiliary and machinery systems.
  • Interpret naval ship blueprints, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with Navy personnel, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve system reliability.
