We are searching for a Machine & Tool Validation Technician who will be focused on machine & tool testing at our Beaverton, MI location. This role will be responsible for performing machine and tooling acceptance per customer expectations making necessary adjustments to the machine to run product for customers for acceptance of the machine build. Will also provide training of customer personnel on proper installation, use and maintenance of machines requiring travel to the customer’s plants for general service calls. The ideal candidate has thermoforming operator experience as well as relevant experience in mechanical and electrical assembly of machinery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestic and international up to 50%-75% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • higher education preferred
  • A thorough knowledge of various plastics, heats, and characteristics preferred. (HIPS, PVC, Polystyrene, Polyethylene, ABS, Paper, etc.)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical and electrical assembly and experience on forming of material sheets preferred.
  • Have a working knowledge thermoforming equipment, a wide variety of hand tools, and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive job instructions from supervisor.
  • Work with little supervision beyond initial orders.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machines to ready them for tryout and customer demonstration. Level and align machine.
  • Check machine out completely, electronically, hydraulically, pneumatically, and mechanically including heaters and ovens.
  • Install tooling in machine and adjust.
  • Run material through machine and produce acceptable samples. May require various adjustments of machine and tooling.
  • Converse with customer describing results of product run.
  • Set-up and run research and development projects as required.
  • Travel as required to service product lines under BMG - thermoformers, trim presses, upgrades, etc.
  • Perform final machine tool and tryout checkout notice.
