About The Position

This skilled pipefitter works at the journeyman level in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of pneumatic and fluid systems, equipment and fixtures. Assembles machinery control panels, pipe machines and install components per documents and instructions. The employee must adhere to all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Status.
  • Requires vocational or high school graduate plus a formal journeyman trades apprenticeship training.
  • 5+ Years of Applied pipefitting experience necessary.
  • Experience with trade techniques, methods and procedures, materials, plant piping systems and proficiency in planning, layout and performing work.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers and engineers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and take direction from Manufacturing Controls Supervisor with regard to job timing and scheduling.
  • Reads and understands Blue Prints, schematics, hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant and lube.
  • Work with various controls engineering departments in development of control circuit’s designs as may be required.
  • Work with Service Department as required, during installation and startup of programs in customer plants and provide on-site training as required for customer maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in corrective action teams as may be required to improve control applications directed towards reducing Manufacturing Costs.
  • Participate in various training programs associate with new technologies as they apply to product lines.
  • Attend all line up meetings with customers, engineers and control supervisors.
  • Plan installations to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of the other workers.
  • Be aware of customer specifications.
  • Provide Technical support and work hands on in the installation of new equipment.
  • Work with Project Engineer to achieve proper design and functionality.
  • Train Customer personnel to operate and maintain the products.
  • Selects size and type of pipe according to specifications.
  • Installs, maintains and tests process piping and utility systems according to specifications and blue prints.
  • Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in the pipes and observing pressure gauges.
  • Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment - Safely operates power tools and equipment
  • Adheres to all safety procedures.
