About The Position

Perform a variety of routine and technical production tasks following prescribed methods and procedures with little or no supervision. Provide guidance and training to lower skilled personnel. Maintain work, product and process flow for designated area. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks. Perform basic mathematical computations using decimals and fractions. Legible penmanship and accurate completion of reports, charts, and other documents. Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices, such as but not limited to micrometers, plug gages, dial indicators, hardness testers, air and electronic gages, electronic data collection equipment, etc. Ability to visually inspect and measure parts being produced. Read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Consistently demonstrate production skills and knowledge on product, equipment, processes, routines and procedures. Good organizational skills are needed to maintain work area and set priorities according to daily production requirements. Good communication skills are needed to effectively train lower skilled personnel and maintain information flow to supervision and across shifts. Maintain a safe working area to ensure the safety of self and other team members, with ability to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and communicate immediately to Leaders. Operate a variety of production machines and equipment, including one or more of the following: presses, furnaces, automation and machining centers where setups are made by others. Rotate from one assignment to another with minimal supervision and instruction. Perform repetitive and routine tasks following well-defined procedures. Conduct tests and measurements on product following established procedures and instructions. Perform visual inspection on product to detect imperfections. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of part identification (lot ticket) system. Maintain accurate records of part quantities and provide accurate data entry of quantity reporting along with scrap reporting. Demonstrates ability to identify part defects while testing, sorting, and packing parts. Maintain and react to Statistical Process Control charts, communicating out-of-control conditions to higher skilled technician or Value Stream Team Leader. Identify and segregate non-conforming materials. Maintain appropriate gages for current jobs. Return gages from completed jobs to Gage Control Department. Ability to read and interpret POS, MOP, and SOP and be able to apply to drawings and prints. Loading and unloading operations on presses, furnaces and machines.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices, such as but not limited to micrometers, plug gages, dial indicators, hardness testers, air and electronic gages, electronic data collection equipment, etc.
