About The Position

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process, ensuring proper ingredients/supplies are used on the line, and monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed. The role also involves notifying the supervisor of maintenance needs while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to company policies. Key duties include the cleaning, storage, reassembling, testing, and maintenance of hatchery processing machinery. The operator will train others on proper equipment usage, make required adjustments, and perform preventive maintenance. Specific tasks include preparing robots and hatchery processing machinery and vaccines daily, performing preventive maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), troubleshooting and repairing robots, monitoring chicks for uniformity of beak trim and vaccination, operating robots for these procedures, and consulting with roboters on bird-related issues. Additional duties may include operating high-pressure hoses, grading and toe trimming chicks, operating a box strapper, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The job is performed in a biosecure environment requiring specific protocols, including showering and changing clothing/footwear.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (employment gap will be increased to 18 months if applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care).
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must be able to read, write and practice simple math skills.
  • Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must agree to submit to a Security Threat Assessment (TSA).
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly push or pull stacks of chick boxes weighing up to 125 lbs.
  • Must lift chick boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures.
