About The Position

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process and ensuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying the supervisor if machines require maintenance, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Basic Math Skills and ability to become certified in Lock Out tag Out Program.
  • Must be willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
  • Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months cumulative industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training.
  • Must be willing and able to pinch/grip product and place into specified location.
  • Must have 6 MThs continuous employment in the last 18 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant machine operator, warehouse, agriculture or production experience.

Responsibilities

  • Move empty racks into position for loading and loading logs onto racks.
  • Send out correct diameters of slicing logs to freezer.
  • Change film as needed.
  • Identify and stripping out defective logs.
  • Drain water from bottom of KP and inspecting equipment.
  • Set up and breaking down grinders.
  • Record condition of grinder plates on grinder inspection sheets and turning in to lead/supervisor.
  • Inform QA and Production Supervisor in the event of issues with equipment/grinder or raw materials.
  • Informs and assists Maintenance persons in identifying and correcting problems with machines.
  • Performs PM’s on equipment in assigned Department.
