Summary: The Machine Shop Technician performs a variety of manufacturing and production support tasks to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely. This role is designed to be cross trained across multiple machine shop function, allowing employees to support various departments as business needs change. Responsibilities may include operating machinery, deburring, assembly support, inspection, cleaning, and other production-related duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple production processes
- Ability to safely use hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment
- Ability to read basic work instructions and follow established procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable with good attendance and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned production tasks in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Cross train and work in multiple areas of the machine shop, including but not limited to: Deburring machined components, Operating CNC and manual equipment (as trained), Cleaning and preparing parts, Product inspection using measuring tools and gauges, Assembly and sub-assembly of components.
- Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures.
- Inspect parts for quality and report any defects or production concerns.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and equipment.
- Accurately complete production documentation as required.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization of materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
