At Boom Supersonic, we're building Superpower — a 42-megawatt industrial gas turbine designed to deliver high-efficiency power generation at scale. Our first prototype is being assembled right now, we're standing up the production facility in parallel, and we're hiring the supervisor who will build the team that runs it — so that when the prototype proves out, we're ready to build the first production units without losing a day. We're looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor who can grow that team. This isn't a role where you step into a running operation with a fully established team and proven processes. You will hire the machinists, set the standards, and create the shift from the ground up — while running daily operations as the team grows around you. On any given shift you'll own it all: safety, quality, schedule, team development, and the handoff to the next supervisor. You'll make hard calls without a playbook because the playbook doesn't exist yet — you're writing it. When the Machining Manager isn't on the floor, you are the management presence. When problems surface, you solve them. When people on your team aren't meeting the standard, you address it directly and early. We're a small team compared to the primes, which means your decisions have real impact and your fingerprints are on everything your shift produces. That's not a qualifier — it's the point.
