Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5+ years of machine shop experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in CNC machining environments required
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (Job Boss preferred)
  • Proficiency in CNC setup and programming (Mastercam preferred)
  • Knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of safety, ergonomics, and quality systems
  • Solid project management and production planning experience
  • High level of accountability, initiative, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and prioritize jobs using ERP systems (Job Boss preferred)
  • Coordinate workflow across multiple work centers to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-first team environment
  • Monitor daily production performance and track KPIs to drive efficiency and throughput
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements to reduce cycle time and increase productivity
  • Ensure optimal machine utilization and proper equipment handling
  • Ensure adherence to all quality standards, GMPs, and company procedures
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations (including hazardous materials and waste handling)
  • Partner with quality teams to resolve issues and improve overall product quality
  • Support CNC machining operations including setup, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with tooling vendors to source and improve workholding and cutting tools
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and uptime optimization
  • Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the operation
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance output
  • Train employees on equipment use, maintenance, and safety standards
  • Manage resources, including external vendors, to support production goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
