About The Position

GFMCO, LLC is currently seeking members to join our Team at our Cordele, GA Plant. This is a full-time, hourly position for a Machine Shop Assistant CNC Operator on the 2nd shift. The role involves assisting in operating computer-controlled machines to perform various machine functions on ductile iron pieces.

Requirements

• Ability to learn the use of general machining tools (Gauges, Micrometers, calipers, 1-2-3 blocks, indicators, etc.)
• Ability to learn the use of a Fanuc or Mazatrol controller
• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
• Ability to lift parts up to 50lbs
• High sense of urgency and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to understand and abide by all safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, and instructions when operating machines
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Must have reliable transportation
• High school or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• 1 year CNC machining experience
• Experience: 1 year of Industrial and CNC experience

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload material and parts in CNC machine
• Use gauges and measuring equipment to maintain tolerance requirements
• Maintain a high quality of workmanship, quantity of work, and cycle time
• Understand and interpret G-code programming
• Understand and abide all safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, and instructions
• Other tasks assigned by management personnel
• Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the company handbook
• Clean and maintain work station and surrounding area
