About The Position

This position is for a mechanically inclined individual who possesses a positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement. This position requires setting up all tooling for machines, programming, running, and performing their own quality checks. This person will be a key player in ensuring first-time quality and delivery of changeover components to the headers. The Tool/Pack Room will work toward ensuring on-time delivery and first-time quality of changeover components to the headers during changeovers.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined
• Basic computer skills using Google Workspace (sheets, docs, drive, chat, Gmail, etc.)
• Solid math skills
• Shop classes or manufacturing process training is required
• Basic problem solving skills
• Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems
• Willingness to learn new areas of the business
• Ability to operate Horizontal, vertical hones, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, centerless, and polishing.
• Knowledge of tools to perform turning, milling, drilling, and boring.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to machine operators on new job development
• Operate Tool Room equipment with limited supervision to meet necessary quality and productivity requirements.
• Read most manufacturing and tooling prints, select and prepare necessary tools to meet print tolerances.
• Utilize Toolroom inspection equipment - micrometers, calipers, indicators, contour tracers, microscope, and comparators.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Follows company safety guidelines.
• Performs preventative maintenance when required.
• Programming and setup of CNC machines.
• Responsible for own inspection of tooling.
