About The Position

This position is responsible for effective and efficient machine set-ups to ensure the changeover is completed accurately, efficiently, and in an appropriate timeframe. The role involves hands-on responsibilities with Yaskawa robots, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining programs and backups. Additionally, the position requires hands-on duties with cross-wire resistance welding to complete proper set-up procedures for Press-type, multi-Head type, and Spot Weld type resistance welders. The individual will troubleshoot resistance welding issues, determine root causes using basic resistance welding parameters, and follow appropriate set-up procedures including preventive maintenance of tooling and electrodes. Operations on manual milling machines and lathes to refinish resistance welding electrodes are also part of the role. Basic computer skills are a plus, as is familiarity with Lean Principles such as 5s, SMED, and TPM to drive department efficiency. Understanding of LOTO procedures to prevent possible injuries and the ability to read and translate measurements on product diagrams are essential. This position offers a shift differential for working the 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak English is essential.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to read prints.
  • Intermediate math skills required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Computer skills are a plus
  • Familiar with Lean Principals including 5s, SMED, and TPM to help drive Department efficiency
  • Understanding of LOTO procedures to prevent possible injuries
  • Ability to read and translate measurements on product diagrams
  • Experience with resistance welding and manual milling machines and lathes a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on responsibilities with Yaskawa robots, to include programming, troubleshooting, maintaining programs and backups.
  • Hands-on duties with cross wire resistance welding to complete proper set-up procedures for Press-type, multi-Head type and Spot Weld type resistance welders.
  • Troubleshoot resistance welding issues; determine root cause using basic resistance welding parameters such as weld current, air pressure, cooling, electrode condition, etc. to achieve a good weld.
  • Follow appropriate set-up procedures that include preventive maintenance of tooling and electrodes.
  • Various operations on manual milling machines and lathes to refinish resistance welding electrodes.
