About The Position

The Machine Set-Up Tech ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. This role involves operating and maintaining various tools, machinery, and equipment according to instructions and specifications, ensuring the quality and safety of the production process.

Requirements

  • Ability to set up and operate tools, machinery, and equipment according to instructions and specifications.
  • Proficiency in selecting, placing, and securing tools.
  • Skill in placing and securing work pieces using clamps and wrenches.
  • Ability to observe machine performance and verify quality.
  • Capability to set and adjust machine controls.
  • Experience in inspecting, repairing, or replacing tooling.
  • Ability to determine if machinery is working properly based on specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting issues and participating in meetings.
  • Commitment to maintaining equipment safety.
  • Focus on performing work safely, consistently, and to quality standards.
  • Ability to identify, tag, and remove non-conforming materials.
  • Accuracy in completing paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates tools, machinery, and equipment according to instructions and specifications.
  • Selects, places, and secures tools.
  • Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
  • Observes each machine to verify quality performance.
  • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines performance.
  • Inspects tooling and repairs or replaces as needed.
  • Determines whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectation such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
  • Reports issues/problems to immediate supervisor.
  • Acts as department communicator during status meetings, management updates, and shift changes.
  • Maintains equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Ensures work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards.
  • Identifies, tags and removes non-conforming materials.
  • Accurately completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with other departments as necessary.
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized.
  • Adheres to all company rules and policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
