Machine/Sanitation Operator – 3rd Shift – Zeeland, MI
About The Position
Tyson Foods is hiring an operator to operate machinery and ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process. The role includes verifying that the proper ingredients and supplies are used on the line, sanitizing equipment, monitoring and adjusting machine settings, and notifying a supervisor if maintenance is needed. Team members must maintain a safe work environment and follow Tyson policies and procedures. Positions may be in any department of the meat-processing facility and may include sanitation duties. Applicants will be considered for available Operator-level openings, with placement and pay level determined by the availability of relevant labor-level jobs. Possible roles include Extended Run (Sanitation), Machine Operator, Oven Operator, Relief Operator, Spice Room Operator, and Utility Operator.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on the application.
- Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across management levels.
- Ability and willingness to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach; stand for 8–10 hours on hard floors; perform repetitive motions; and work in cold, damp conditions and on slippery walking surfaces.
