About The Position

The Machine Programmer reports to the Fabrication Manager and is responsible for manufacturing various metal components used in the creation of storage solutions. This role involves inputting, modifying, and managing CNC product programs, optimizing raw material utilization, and performing regular machine maintenance. The programmer must also be proficient in reading measurement devices and interpreting engineering drawings, as well as accurately reporting labor and inventory data. Compliance with ISO and OHSA standards, including safety procedures and the use of PPE, is mandatory. The position requires punctuality and adherence to attendance standards and work deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Knowledge of Database Software (knowledge of Odoo a plus).
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Software.
  • CAD experience.
  • Familiarity with 3D Modeling software.
  • Working knowledge in Excel.
  • Use of hand tools and mechanical abilities to perform work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Input, modify, and manage UNEX CNC product programs in computer software with assistance from Engineering department.
  • Ensure raw material utilization is optimized and work with production to contribute to router, bill of material, and material quality accuracy.
  • Perform regular maintenance of machine and work with Maintenance department on upkeep of machine operating systems.
  • Ability to read and understand measurement devices including tape measure, caliper, and various gauges to interpret drawings provided by Engineering department.
  • Accurately report labor and inventory data transactions at data collection workstations.
  • Perform other job-related duties, which may include occasional tasks outside the normal scope of your job.
  • Comply with all applicable ISO Standards: Quality Management System, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and follow all plant policies and guidelines.
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA standards: Ensures all equipment guards, safety devices, and PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) are always in place and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.
