Timken Distribution Center is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Packaging Operator for its facility located in Duncan, SC. Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm, plus overtime as required. Requirements

  • 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents written in English. Documents include information such as safety rules, work instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete production forms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with co-workers and plant leadership.
  • Protective-toe shoes required at all times while on the plant floor.
  • Working in a production environment
  • Machine Operating Experience

Responsibilities

  • Gather necessary supplies and verify quality prior to use, including fitness of cartons/boxes to support product weight.
  • Verify product quantity and inspect for correct part numbers or any visual defects prior to packaging. If errors are found, take appropriate action to restore accuracy.
  • Stage product in feeding area, replenishing or hand-feeding as necessary. Consistent speed is critical to avoid product damage.
  • Set up, change over and perform troubleshooting on all packaging equipment.
  • Use technology such as computers or handheld RF Scanners to verify packaging requirements and perform systematic order processing functions.
  • Remove packaged bearings from exit conveyor and perform final visual inspection of all components.
  • Pack individual cartons, sleeves or tubes into shipping containers and use conveyor system to routeto next stage in shipping process.
  • Communicate with other work areas in order to resolve problems that may arise.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties such as filling out standard forms and keeping work area clean and orderly.
