About The Position

Decatur Diamond, LLC, a leading manufacturer of diamond-based tooling, is seeking a Machine Operator for 2nd shift for our production facility located in Decatur, IN. This person will be responsible for set-up and operation of production machinery. This position works 10 hours per day, four days per week. The hours for this position will be 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, capable of using measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, etc. Trade school or prior machining experience is preferred but we will train the right individual. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Must be detail-oriented
Understanding of production and plant processes
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Products, Outlook, Excel and Word
Good Math Skills
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to work in a team

Nice To Haves

Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience is preferred but will train the right individual.
Mechanically inclined
Capable of using measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, etc.
Trade school or prior machining experience

Responsibilities

Set up machinery for operation
Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance
Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
Troubleshoot issues and perform daily maintenance
Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
Comply with all safety and health regulations
Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
