SUMMARY The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the burn table to process plate materials.

Requirements

  • Must have two or more years of structural steel experience, including the use of drill lines and drawing experience.
  • Skilled in interpreting CAD drawings, symbols, and notes.
  • Ability to read tape measure to within 1/16".
  • Must be able to identify different types and weights of steel.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule as well as overtime and Saturdays as needed.
  • Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • Possess attention to detail.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and exhibit a strong work ethic
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and uphold our core values of being customer-centric and problem solvers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC machines is preferred.
  • Experience with operating overhead crane is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Select correct machine settings for optimal burning, drilling, and processing operations
  • Measure materials to ensure conformance with design specifications
  • Select appropriate material type, stock size and dimensions as required
  • Transfer data onto materials
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work area
  • Keep and manage an accurate record of daily operations and materials usage
