SUMMARY The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the burn table to process plate materials.

Requirements

Must have two or more years of structural steel experience, including the use of drill lines and drawing experience.
Skilled in interpreting CAD drawings, symbols, and notes.
Ability to read tape measure to within 1/16".
Must be able to identify different types and weights of steel.
Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule as well as overtime and Saturdays as needed.
Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time.
Possess attention to detail.
Must be reliable, punctual, and exhibit a strong work ethic
Must demonstrate professionalism and uphold our core values of being customer-centric and problem solvers.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CNC machines is preferred.
Experience with operating overhead crane is preferred.

Responsibilities

Select correct machine settings for optimal burning, drilling, and processing operations
Measure materials to ensure conformance with design specifications
Select appropriate material type, stock size and dimensions as required
Transfer data onto materials
Keep a clean, organized and safe work area
Keep and manage an accurate record of daily operations and materials usage
