About The Position

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking skilled Machine Operator to join our manufacturing shop. This position is available on first shift. Requirements

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
  • Knowledgeable in metal identification as required (Structural Steel, Aluminum, Pipe, Sheet Metal)

Responsibilities

  • Create nested parts packages and upload them to the equipment on the production floor
  • Ensure parts packages are organized and released per schedule
  • Manage incoming material inventory spreadsheet
  • Support CNC operators and production Supervisors
  • Assist operators and maintenance staff in the performance of preventative maintenance and/or repairs
  • Understand and follow QA-QC standards
  • Ability to learn specific software required for each machine (Pro-Cam, Advanced Steel, etc.…)
  • Position work piece onto table or into fixture or with jib or crane
  • Select carbon or metal-coated carbon electrode, gas nozzle, electric current, and gas pressure, according to thickness and type of metal, data on charts, or record of previous runs
  • Insert electrode and gas nozzle into holder and connects hose from holder to compressed gas supply
  • Turn knobs to select amperage
  • Turn lever to adjust jet of gas to blow away molten metal
  • Strike arc and guide electrode along lines to cut (melt) through metal
  • Cut off chips or spur and burn out cracks and holes
