About The Position

Operation of a variety of machines. Responsibilities range from loading/unloading materials onto/off machines, setting up your next job and making sure you have the correct tooling, processing tubing through equipment and ensuring quality of tubes being produced and shipped out. A typical day consists of ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition, reviewing computerized work lists, locating available material, communicating with other operators, loading/unloading machines and conveyors, performing necessary set-ups, processing jobs, staging material, using SAP for work orders and tags, utilizing FIFO inventory management, performing housekeeping and preventative maintenance, and following all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to deal with stress and get along with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to read and speak English
  • Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Regular attendance at work and punctuality
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day, standing on a concrete floor
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Frequent unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34 – 37 pounds
  • Utilizes a variety of hand positions to work equipment controls and maneuver tubes throughout manufacturing process
  • Ability to deal with stress
  • Must be able to operate a variety of industrial machines safely and efficiently (after training)
  • Fully capable of operating fork trucks and cranes

Nice To Haves

  • High School education or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Use of FIFO inventory management to ensure oldest material is used first
  • Housekeeping and preventative maintenance duties
  • Following of all safety policies and procedures
