About The Position

This position is with Great Kitchens, Inc., part of the Rich Products family of companies. The purpose of this role is to prepare and operate machines safely, efficiently, and cleanly. The Machine Operator is responsible for the production of a quality product that meets all customer and regulatory requirements. They will effectively communicate with their supervisor, ensure necessary tools, settings, and supplies are ready prior to production, and maintain constant attendance to the machines, preventing untrained employees from improper use. The role also involves recording and accounting for all materials used on the line for the assigned shift, assisting the supervisor in maintaining clean and safe work areas, making minor machine adjustments, and reporting the need for major repairs to the supervisor and maintenance department. Additionally, the operator will record all downtime due to machine malfunctions and report them to the supervisor at the end of the shift. Adherence to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), including good hand washing practices and the employee hygiene plan, is required, as is following all USDA guidelines. Any issues regarding food safety or quality must be reported to supervision and/or quality assurance, and customer requirements must be complied with when applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
  • Able to make logical decisions.
  • Work bending and squatting.
  • Adhere to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
  • Follow all USDA guidelines
  • Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance
  • Comply with customer requirements when applicable
  • Ability to work different shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production of a quality product that meets all customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains constant attendance to the machines and prevents other employees that are not trained on that machine from improper use.
  • Records and accounts for all materials used on the line for assigned shift.
  • Assists supervisor in maintaining the work areas in a clean and safe manner.
  • Makes minor machine adjustment, and informs the supervisor and the maintenance department when major repairs are required.
  • Records all down time due to machine malfunctions and reports them to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
