About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining braiding machines and laser marking machines to cover electric wire and cable with insulating material and process various wire part numbers. The operator will be responsible for setting up machines, adjusting program variables, performing daily preventive maintenance and safety checks, and interpreting instructions from work travelers. Collaboration with various departments, including production control, engineering, and quality, is essential to meet rigorous production schedules. The position requires the ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Demonstrate knowledge of computer driven equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pound spools of wire
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical processing errors
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Must be detail oriented within a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to take on new tasks and a changing environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines
  • Experience working in conformance with a quality system
  • Dependable

Nice To Haves

  • Some technical education preferred
  • Some knowledge of Capri 100 and/or Capri 50 laser marking machine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate braiding machines that cover electric wire and cable with insulating material.
  • Interpret instructions from sources such as the electronic shop work traveler.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on braiding machines.
  • Work with production control and other associates to a rigorous production schedule.
  • Setup and operate machine software to process various wire part numbers using laser markers.
  • Adjust program variables to optimize wire processing.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on laser markers.
  • Control material in accordance with the quality management system.
  • Work with engineering, quality, production control and other associates to a rigorous production schedule.
