About The Position

The Royal Group, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking Machine Operators to support our Addison, IL facility. The Machine Operator is responsible for all activities associated with running the machine including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommendation of improvements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to add, to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use a tape measure; and to use a computer.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing Trade certification is a plus, but it not required.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Corrugated packaging experience is preferred, not required.
  • Using a tape measure, preferred.
  • Strong manufacturing process skills, preferred.
  • Corrugated skills, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setup machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Performs assistant duties on any machine as assigned.
  • Assists in setting up the stacker end.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Mounts or assists in the mounting of cutting dies.
  • Performs die repairs requiring the use of sharp knives.
  • Locates and secures dunnage sheets for units and loads.
  • Operates manual and automatic conveyor systems to move loads.
  • Stretch wraps units, applies corner protectors, and handles special unitization requirements.
  • Prepares loads from outside vendors by unloading and removing plastic wrap and strapping.
  • Carries heavy sheets from the corrugator.
  • Stacks products and bundles using a stacking device.
  • Performs bundling and stretch wrapping of units.
  • Lifts heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and maintains a clean work area. Objects over 50 lbs. should be handled by two team members whenever possible.
  • Assists the operator with manual machine adjustments and performs quality checks.
  • Works overtime as required to meet operational needs.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly machine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Assists with baler operations as needed.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform all essential job functions successfully.
  • Complies with all job requirements, including reasonable accommodations provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
