About The Position

We are looking for two skilled and motivated 2nd shift Machine Operators in our Tampa, FL concrete block manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the plant manager, shift supervisor and/or other designated lead personnel the Machine Operator maintains the facility in a clean, orderly and hazard free condition. This position will operate , monitor, and maintain concrete block manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• Use, read and understand rulers and tape measures
• Read, write and speak English as required by safety standards and job expectations
• Basic math skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, averaging, etc.
• Interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting and crawling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain work area in clean and hazard free condition .
• Operate machine control panels with electronic switches.
• Visually inspect products and by-products for conformity to prescribed quality standards such as color, shape and corners.
• Remove poor quality products and by-products as .
• Make minor adjustment and repairs on machinery, such as removing jams.
• Monitor the operation of manufacturing equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
• Perform quality control and fill out documentation.
• Empty reject dumpsters, clean loose material from around conveyors and batching equipment.
• Perform other functions and duties as or directed, such as assisting with maintenance, cleaning and repair of machinery.
• Follow all safety rules.
