This Machine Operator position involves setting up, laying out, and operating various CNC mills, as well as setting up and operating 3 and 5 axis CNC milling centers and CNC lathes. The role requires reading blueprints or job orders for product specifications and tool instructions, selecting and securing tools, and positioning work pieces. The operator will move controls to set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut, perform first piece inspections, and observe machine operation to verify conformity to specifications. The position also involves performing assembly-type functions using hand or power tools, adjusting, trimming, and fitting parts to close tolerances, and following visual aids. Additional duties include making up cartons, printing labels, inserting protective packing material, sealing finished products, meeting efficiency rates, and performing quality checks. The role requires maintaining a clean and orderly work area, discussing errors with supervisors or engineers, and being flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells.
