Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Machine Operators for their 2nd shift. This role involves operating machinery, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety protocols in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Requirements

Average math skills.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English.
Ability to complete simple logs and reports in English.
Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.
Able to work scheduled hours and comply with company policies.
Able to consistently stand for an entire shift.
Ability to learn fundamental machining concepts.
Proficiency in using measuring devices.
Work closely with other team members, including supervisors.
Attention to detail.
Commitment to dependability and consistent performance.
Detail-oriented with flexibility to respond to shifting production demands.

Responsibilities

Follow production instructions and tasks from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions.
Install machine fixtures, aligning and securing dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures.
Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines.
Monitor the production process to ensure machines function correctly and products meet quality standards.
Perform inspections and measurements of finished products using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing PPE and adhering to safety regulations.
Use a crane or buddy system to maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts.
Ensure the work area is clean and organized.
Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
