Machine Operator
About The Position
Sika is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business. The Machine Operator will work the overnight shift which is Monday - Thursday 6pm to 6Am. The Machine Operator at Sika will play a key role in supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line. The operation will include set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components, and the development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields. This role also involves the safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations, ensuring proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned, and following all company policies, including environmental policy and notifying the supervisor of any concern that may affect work area or company property. Miscellaneous tasks as assigned will also be part of the role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and write English
- Good verbal communications skills
- Understanding of how to use a touch-screen (PLC) production line
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
- Ability and willingness to work overtime if required
- Availability and willingness to cover any shift with prior notification
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production highly desirable
