About The Position

With general supervision, the Machine Operator sets up the proper tooling for thermoforming machines and operates the machines according to job specifications. This is an onsite position at the Huntley, Illinois facility. The listed shift hours are 11:00 PM–3:00 PM, and the pay rate is $24.89 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential.

The role includes setting up and maintaining thermoforming machines, producing parts, completing job tickets, and conducting troubleshooting and quality checks. The operator works with Packers/Inspectors to address quality issues and may direct them to other work areas while a machine is down for troubleshooting or setup. The position also involves keeping an organized and safe work area and performing other assigned duties.

The role requires continuous standing, walking, reaching, and lifting, with lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to heat, toxic fumes, greases, and lubricants.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of machine operator experience.
• At least 6 months of setup operator experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills, including completing paperwork.
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality control.
• Ability to use and read calipers.
• Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day, and to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good manual dexterity and agility.
• Ability to maintain a 97% attendance record.
• Ability to maintain accurate daily box counts and run the specified number of parts for each job.
• Ability to verify part specification requirements and work effectively with inspectors and operators.
• Self-starting attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to perform other tasks as required.
• Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• One year of previous production line experience preferred.
• Good leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up thermoforming machines for operation according to job specifications.
• Mount dies and molds and load rolls of raw materials into the machine.
• Operate machines to produce thermoformed parts and maintain continuous operation.
• Troubleshoot machines and perform quality control checks.
• Perform routine maintenance on thermoforming machines.
• Complete required job tickets and maintain accurate daily box counts.
• Work with Packers/Inspectors to resolve quality issues.
• Direct Packers/Inspectors to other areas when a machine is down for troubleshooting or setup.
• Run the specified number of parts for each job and verify part specification requirements.
• Assist in machine setups as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform other work duties or functions as assigned.
