OPERATIONS - MACHINE OPERATOR - AFTERNOONS
About The Position
Poly-Nova Technologies is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for the afternoon shift. This role is critical in ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing plant. The company produces rubber products for the automotive & power transmission industries and specializes in rubber molding, material development, engineering, injection molding, and over molding. Requirements
- High school (Secondary School) diploma
- 1+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with SOPs and EH&S standards.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, policies, memos, and quality alerts.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Competent to operate press equipment: automated and manual
- General mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to wear required PPE
- Ability to lift 15–35 lbs (full cases of product and insert trays).
- Ability to stand for extended periods, with opportunities to sit during inspection tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Load press/machine with correct rubber
- Operate injection molding machines and presses
- Closely inspect parts within cycle time by following quality inspection instructions and alerts, removing flash
- Complete shift paperwork: machine logs, scrap sheets, production reports, etc
- Package finished parts as per required quantity; label and prepare for shipping, place on skid
- Notify Supervisor or Lead Hand of any unusual amounts of scrap, including new/unusual defects
- Maintain traceability and identification of parts by confirming correct labels are placed on boxes
- Ensure fabric is pulled and sprues are inspected for mold foul, or other rubber related issues
- Maintain accurate records related to the activity of the shift
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Communication of any issues during shift overlap to incoming Machine Operator
- General housekeeping: sweeping area, removing build-up of rubber and parts spillage in work area
