About The Position

Our passionate employees (we call ourselves “partners”) are feeding the world, and we’re looking for exceptional people to join our production team at our Carthage, Missouri plant on Claxton Ave. This position is for a Casting Cook Operator on the A shift, which runs Sunday through Thursday nights from 11pm to 7am. The starting wage is $23.58 per hour, with a top-out wage of $27.77 per hour after 24 months. An additional $1.00 per hour shift differential is provided for night shift work. This job requires a 2-year bid commitment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have the ability to read, understand and follow written procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language is required.
  • This job may require you to operate an electronic pallet jack or forklift and work in cold or hot conditions.
  • This position requires passing a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen.
  • Schreiber requires that an employee have authorization to work in the country in which the role is based.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh-up cheese accurately according to written and oral instructions.
  • Dump cheese accurately.
  • Monitors blend/cook/ingredient schedules and also product being cooked to insure quality standards are met.
  • Maintains attention to safe and proper operation of grinder, cooker, blender, scales and barrel hoist.
  • Notifies Maintenance of needed repairs.
  • Maintains work area in an approved housekeeping/sanitary condition.
  • Monitors weigh-up, insures correct cheese and proper weight are used.
  • Closely monitors for product quality defects to prevent improper usage and on-line problems.
  • Perform daily cheese and ingredient inventories to meet the customer requirements of records and reduces solids loss.
  • Participate on the teams as requested (SPS, PSCs, Kaizens).
  • Ability to set-up and operate blender.
  • Make simple repairs/adjustments when necessary or grind and cook products to SFI specifications.
  • Ability to communicate with wrapper operators and belt operators.
  • Ability to perform moderate amount of record-keeping paperwork.
  • Ability to identify needed blends from the SCADA computer station, make modifications to the blends and work with the lab partners to make the necessary water and acid adjustments.
  • Must be able to work overtime daily and/or weekend as required.
