About The Position

Solstice Advanced Materials is seeking a Machine Operator Level 2 for its Fombell, Pennsylvania location. The successful candidate will be trained to operate electron beam melting equipment and other machinery, including a metal shear and metal chopping piranhas. The role requires manufacturing experience and involves operating advanced melting equipment while maintaining quality, production, and safety standards. The position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in helium testing and/or maintenance work.
Understanding of metallurgy, mechanical design, and vacuum system mechanics.
Ability to work in hot and cold environments as needed.
Openness to working rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.

Nice To Haves

Forklift operation experience is highly valued and considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate electron beam operating systems.
Follow standard operating procedures to maintain quality and safety standards.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on machinery to support optimal performance.
Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, escalating them to management when necessary.
Monitor production flow and communicate discrepancies or concerns.
Vacuum leak-check systems using helium and helium detectors.
Maintain accurate production logs and reports, documenting incidents and machine malfunctions.
Diagnose machine faults, perform routine preventative maintenance, and comply with safety and hazard requirements.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Work with team members to meet production goals and maintain a team-oriented environment.
Assist in training new operators on machine operation and safety practices.
