About The Position

Aptar is seeking an Operator for their facility in Mukwonago, WI. This role provides assistance to the Manufacturing/Operational processes and Quality Systems. The operator manages material flow on equipment, monitors operation, makes necessary adjustments, and verifies equipment operating conditions to ensure conformance to specifications. Responsibilities include maintaining area housekeeping, following safety procedures, and recommending improvements for equipment performance and safety. This position requires participation in and adherence to all applicable plant certifications, including ISO 9001:2000 and SQF.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Ability to read, count, and write
  • Ability to distinguish colors as evidenced by a maximum score of 80 on the Farnsworth-Munsell Color Test.
  • Prompt, reliable attendance is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Arrive 5 minutes before start of shift to communicate with the previous shift.
  • Read activity board for scheduled color changes, conversions, and set-ups.
  • Create, label, and number boxes.
  • Read shop order for product requirements and verify box label matches product.
  • Answer bells, check for stuck parts, and use Process Monitor on press.
  • Clean machines after completing production activities and to maintain efficiency.
  • Operate emergency stops on closing machines, grinders, auxiliary equipment and understand lock out/tag out procedure when necessary.
  • Operate and maintain all types of manufacturing equipment, potentially operating several machines at once to relieve for breaks/lunch.
  • Examine and discard defective goods and packaging components. Rummage through product to look for gross defects.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure finished product and components meet quality and quantity constraints.
  • Support and adhere to all system procedures and company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Communicate any gross defects to the technical team and communicate any problems or issues with other team members.
