About The Position

Vision Plastics, Inc, the Northwest leader in custom injection molding, is hiring Machine Operators for the graveyard shift! This role offers a clean working environment and paid on-the-job training. We are looking for individuals who are punctual, have good attendance, and can work independently as well as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manually cycle machine by opening and closing gate.
  • Must be able lift, reach, and pull up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to stand for long (at least 8) hours.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Operate injection molding machine to produce quality molded parts.
  • Read and follow Production Operating Instructions (POI), as well as follow any verbal instructions.
  • Run machine at required cycle time.
  • Monitor machine for malfunctions and report them to the supervisor or designee. Ensure the machine does not close on molded product and/or inserts.
  • Verify parts meet quality standards by reviewing samples at the workstation.
  • Identify rejects and reasons for rejection, code rejects in the RT system, and notify the supervisor or lead.
  • Process parts per POI and customer quality standards, which may include trimming, sanding, cutting, assembling, twisting, boxing, and packaging.
  • Maintain an accurate count of all parts, either manually or using scales.
  • Fill out work orders and labels accurately and legibly, verifying lot numbers with the work order and container.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees, notifying the oncoming operator of any problems.
  • Monitor all necessary equipment for jobs, ensuring it is stocked and notifying the supervisor or lead of any needs.
  • Make suggestions to improve operator procedures and other improvements to the supervisor or through the internal suggestion program.
  • Keep the work area clean, neat, and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
