About The Position

Machine Operators play a crucial role in manufacturing and production processes by operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment. This job description outlines the responsibilities and skill sets required for a Machine Operator I. The primary responsibility for this role will be to operate various machines in development to become a Machine Operator II.

Requirements

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Operate a computer – PC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Operate assigned machinery under direct supervision.
Load raw materials into machines and monitor the production process.
Perform basic machine setups and adjustments as instructed.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure machinery is functioning properly.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or notify supervisors.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Record production data and maintain accurate logs.
Complete assigned tasks within given timeframes.
Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.
Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
