About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery to maximize production and efficiency. This role requires attention to detail in paperwork, equipment setup, and quality control. The operator must adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Flexibility is key due to varying production needs and potential overtime. The work environment can involve exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise, and potential hazards associated with machinery and chemicals.

Requirements

  • Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team effort.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery to maximize production and efficiency.
  • Complete all paperwork related to the job.
  • Lock out equipment before set up and disassembling.
  • Inspect equipment during set up following product specification.
  • Report abnormalities to Supervisor.
  • Ensure all packaging materials comply with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Carefully seal all packing materials to protect them from contaminants.
  • Return packaging to designated storage area.
  • Responsible for dry pick up.
  • Strive to meet all daily ship schedules.
  • Know metal detector policy and proper handling of product.
  • Keep the packing equipment and work area in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of packing supplies.
  • Know and understand good manufacturing practices.
  • Know and understand safety guidelines.
  • Know and understand lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Perform other jobs as assigned.
  • Willing to rotate jobs.
