About The Position

Ichor Systems in Fremont, CA has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator - General Machine Shop helper for the weldment (stainless steel and aluminum fittings) manufacturing site. This role will perform basic machine set-up, deburr, polish, detail, DI wash, leak check and other shop floor support functions. Shift: 6am-2:30pm Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices, specifications, and work instructions
  • Ability to operate a variety of machines
  • Basic understanding of related mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good teamwork skills and willingness to learn and help others
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and push/pull/move/lift up to 50lbs safely
  • Basic computer skills for manufacturing documentation, email, and navigating basic ERP systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Some work may be required in a Class 100 Cleanroom requiring full gown PPE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2+ years of manufacturing or related work experience
  • Experience with stainless steel and aluminum fittings, measuring devices and hand tools

Nice To Haves

  • Trade program in Welding Technology a plus
  • Welding a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic set-ups and operate machines in more than one assigned area
  • Operate complex equipment and machines in a safe manner
  • Fit, align and adjust machines or assemblies to meet tolerances and product operating requirements
  • Work from schedules, shop orders, established procedures, blueprints, and specifications
  • Identify deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity
  • Load and unload various types of cleaning equipment, miscellaneous assembly, inspecting, alcohol wiping, swabbing, nitrogen dry parts, leak check, LPC testing, bag and tag
  • Operate air and electric drivers, ultra sonic wash
  • Proper use of required PPE. This includes coveralls, boots, hairnets/headcovers/face shields, gloves, etc.
  • May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift
  • Maintain logs and other necessary documents
  • Work with direct supervision
