About The Position

Red Diamond is seeking dependable, hard-working individuals for a Second (2nd) Shift Machine Operator position. This is a hands-on production role for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up consistently, follows safety and quality standards, and works well as part of a team. The role involves operating high-speed coffee or tea packaging machines, performing quality checks, replenishing materials, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and assembling/labeling boxes. Red Diamond has been crafting coffee and tea since 1906 and was recognized as one of Birmingham’s Best Places to Work in 2025. This position offers a 4-day work week with occasional overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant machine operator experience)
• Stable work history and consistent reliability
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work at a fast pace and meet production goals
• Dependability matters — we value team members who show up ready to contribute and take pride in their work.
• Demonstrated ability to stand for long periods and read instructions clearly
• Standing and walking for extended periods throughout each shift.
• Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment and perform duties that require prolonged walking and standing.
• The essential functions of this job include standing for 10 hours per shifts.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating high-speed coffee or tea packaging machines
• Performing quality checks to ensure every product meets our standards
• Replenishing materials and maintaining a clean, safe work area
• Assembling and labeling boxes, and supporting other production tasks
