About The Position

Omega Flex, a supplier of quality engineered flexible metal hose products since 1975, is seeking a Corrugator for their Medi Trac Division in Exton, PA. This onsite position involves operating continuous corrugating machines (RP-Rotary Process) to draw, form, weld, and corrugate raw material into annular corrugated flexible metallic tubing according to schedules, specifications, and procedures. The role requires setting up and operating a range of specifications, assisting lower-class operators, and potentially operating a segmentor. The ideal candidate must be able to commute to Exton, PA.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months' experience as a Class B operator or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Have reliable transportation to the manufacturing facility.
  • Must have the ability to lift, manipulate, and assemble products and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and work with raw material (metal strip) safely.
  • Identify raw materials and Bare Medical Tubing (BMT) by part numbers.
  • Perform complete line setup, including roll form tooling change, belt change, corrugator tooling change, and other machine setup aspects.
  • Perform coil splicing operations.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust the tube mill to produce acceptable tube for corrugating.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust the corrugator to produce in-spec corrugated tubing.
  • Perform in-process inspections: ID, OD, corrugations per foot measurements, crush, and hydrostatic tests.
  • Perform various evaluation tests, including bend tests, tubing and fitting impact tests, and axial strength tests.
  • Visually inspect, mark, and report gross defects in product (e.g., holes, dents, misshapen corrugations).
  • Perform weld-width inspection using a microscope station.
  • Perform BMT pressure testing.
  • Monitor argon pressure levels and safely perform an argon bottle 12-pack changeover.
  • Complete manufacturing records, including setup sheets, production, and testing.
  • Run work in process according to the scheduled work order.
  • Follow operational work procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Run prototype and production trial runs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
