About The Position
Valor Environmental is hiring a full-time Machine Operator/Crew Leader for construction and landscaping work in Houston, Texas. The role pays $20.00–$22.00 per hour, plus overtime, and involves operating company machinery, installing and removing erosion-control measures, and leading an Environmental Field Service crew when a Field Quality Manager is unavailable. The work takes place outdoors in varied weather conditions and may require weekend work and extended hours.
Requirements
- Previous construction or landscaping leadership experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds throughout the workday; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a crew of Environmental Field Service Specialists when a Field Quality Manager is unavailable.
- Install and remove silt fence.
- Install protection for storm inlets.
- Use heavy-duty hand tools, such as sledgehammers and shovels.
- Install erosion-control measures (BMPs) as prescribed by reporting agencies.
- Monitor job sites for safety hazards and correct employees working unsafely.
- Operate company machinery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
