About The Position

Sun-Maid Growers of California in Kingsburg is looking to hire qualified Machine Operators for the Processing and Packaging department. This full-time position is responsible for learning and operating machinery, maintaining production along the line, and ensuring machines are set to run within company specifications for the assigned item. The role aims to limit overfill and packaging material waste, assist with product flow, and keep accurate downtime records. The operator will communicate with others regarding product changes, verify and document Centerlines, and operate computerized controls while pinpointing mechanical problems. A clean and well-organized work area is also expected. This is a union environment with union dues.

Requirements

Must pass background check, drug screening and physical test.
Must know different varieties of fruit. Must be able to distinguish between different fruit quality characteristics.
Must be able to pass lockout/blockout training.
Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
Good math skills, basic computer skills may be required.
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
Follow all of the policies set forth in the Plant Employee Handbook, including the GMPs, safety regulations, and the rules and regulations.
Use good judgment and common sense at all times.
