About The Position

We specialize in the design, production, and supply of Shoulder Plugs for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. At Ram Machine Products, LLC. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision components that meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves working with Acme or Wickman machines, performing basic setups and adjustments, and conducting inspections to ensure product accuracy. The position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, use standard precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and check threads.
  • Proficient in common arithmetic operations and geometry calculations.
  • Must be able and willing to learn and expand Screw Machine knowledge.
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull > 50 pounds
  • Continuous standing and/or walking.
  • Physical - working frequently with weights of up to fifty pounds.
  • Ability to work in a hot, and/or dusty environment, with loud noisy conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience using a Screw Machine a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor Acme or Wickman multi-spindle screw machines
  • Load and secure raw materials for machining operations
  • Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, production output, and any issues encountered
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and production efficiency
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and experienced operators to support production goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
