About The Position

The Machine Operator operates machinery to maintain a continuous flow of product through the production process and ensure the correct ingredients and supplies are used on the line. The operator monitors and adjusts machine settings as needed, reports maintenance needs to a supervisor, and maintains a safe work environment while following Tyson policies and procedures. The role requires documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor. The position is based at River Valley Ingredients, Plant A, in Hanceville, Alabama, and is on C Shift days.

Requirements

At least 6 consecutive months of work within the last year.
Documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
Ability to read and complete required logs and communicate via two-way radio.
Ability to obtain certification to operate a front-end loader, manlift, or forklift if required.
Rehire candidates must meet a minimum waiting period of 180 days; no more than three prior periods of employment at Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery to ensure continuous product flow through production.

Notify a supervisor when machines may require maintenance.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow Tyson policies and procedures.
Keep the work area clean using soap and a high-pressure hose.
Read and complete required logs.
Communicate with supervisors and coworkers using a two-way radio.
May operate a front-end loader, manlift, or forklift after obtaining required certification.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
