About The Position

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. The Machine Operator performs daily forklift inspections, reviews schedules with supervisors, selects recipes in the Wolftec system, prepares pickles according to program instructions, verifies brine salt levels, scans ingredients, follows process instructions via touchscreen, transfers pickles, issues ingredients using the EIM system, produces pickles to order, enters information into the Safety Chain/Plant View QA System, turns in work orders, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. Team members may wear a dust mask, though it is not mandatory. They must also complete production documents daily and report any maintenance or quality issues to their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Successful candidates may not be allowed to apply for another position for six (6) months unless the position is a promotion.
  • Must have completed 90-day probationary period to apply. If a non-probationary period team member is not selected, probationary team members will be considered.
  • Must have a satisfactory attendance record of 3 points or less.
  • Must not have received a written warning/suspension in the last 6 months.
  • Ability to operate equipment using a touch screen and handheld scanner.
  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds (with assistance).
  • The Team Member is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
  • The Team Member will work in an environment where the noise level is usually loud.
  • The Team Member will use a touch screen and hand held scanner.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety Chain/Plant View, EIM and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily forklift inspection and submit documentation to supervisor if needed.
  • Review schedule with supervisor before each shift to verify when the pickle will be made and how much is needed.
  • Select proper master recipe in the Wolftec system and enter total batch amount.
  • Follow program instruction in preparing pickle.
  • Verify brine salt is at the correct salometer level before each batch if needed.
  • Scan all ingredients with Wolftec scanner before adding to the pickle.
  • Follow process instructions as per the touch screen.
  • Transfer pickle to appropriate tank.
  • Issue all ingredients to process order using the EIM system.
  • Produce all pickle to the massage process orders.
  • Enter all required information into the Safety Chain/Plant.View QA System.
  • Turn in work order with total amount completed to your supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all required production documents and submit to supervisor daily.
  • Report any issues related to maintenance or quality of the product to supervisor.
