About The Position

The Machine Operator will be responsible for loading, operating, unloading, and changing blades/tooling on Saws, Punches, and Mills. This role requires strict adherence to safety policies, the ability to read and understand blueprints, and the capacity to work independently with limited supervision to produce quality work within specified timeframes. The operator will also be responsible for cleaning and lubricating machines, adjusting equipment for desired quality, performing quality checks, organizing work efficiently, troubleshooting equipment, and performing basic machine maintenance. Flexibility and a willingness to work on the most important tasks are essential, along with a strong work ethic, good hygiene, punctuality, and the ability to work in a team environment. The role also requires good math and measuring skills, adaptability to change, and dependable attendance.

Requirements

  • Able to perform each essential duty at a minimum satisfactory level
  • Possess the required education/experience, job related characteristics and specialized skills/certifications
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift 80 lbs
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6 months minimum experience operating equipment such as saws, vertical mills, or Ironworkers
  • Must be able to read, speak & write English and understand blueprints and working drawings
  • Must be able to read a blueprint/drawing and produce work within the specified tolerance
  • Must be able to adjust production equipment/machinery setup to achieve desired quality
  • Must be able to perform quality checks and record those results
  • Must be able plan and organize assigned work efficiently based on a predetermined schedule and due date
  • Must be willing to troubleshoot equipment with on and off-site support
  • Must be willing to perform basic machine maintenance
  • Follows safety rules/practices and is safety conscious at all times
  • Maintains good attitude with customers and company employees
  • Must have good hygiene, work ethic, understand punctuality and ability to work independently
  • Works in teams to produce quality and appropriate quantities of products to meet customer needs
  • Possess an energetic, enthusiastic and self-starting attitude
  • Possess good math skills
  • Possess excellent measuring skills, with ability to read and understand foot/inch/fractions to 1/32 of an inch
  • Maintain a good attitude toward fast paced change, lean manufacturing and multi-tasking
  • Dependable and regular attendance is necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Some welding experience is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Load, Operate, Unload and Change blades/tooling on Saws, Punches and Mill
  • Adhere strictly to the Company Safety Policy and the Safety Standards for the Equipment that is being operated
  • Read blueprints and working drawings and produce work within the specified tolerance
  • Work with limited supervision and safely produce the required work within the time given
  • Clean and lubricate the machines on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Adjust production equipment/machinery setup to achieve desired quality
  • Perform quality checks and record those results
  • Plan and organize assigned work efficiently based on a predetermined schedule and due date
  • Be flexible and willing to work on the most important task at the time
  • Troubleshoot equipment with on and off-site support
  • Perform basic machine maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
