About The Position

Vision Plastics, Inc, the Northwest leader in custom injection molding, is hiring Machine Operators for the graveyard shift! This role involves operating an injection molding machine to produce quality molded parts in a clean environment. The company offers paid on-the-job training and is looking for punctual individuals with good attendance who can work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must possess basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to manually cycle machine by opening and closing gate.
  • Must be able lift, reach, and pull up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to stand for long (at least 8) hours.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Operate injection molding machine to produce quality molded parts.
  • Read and follow Production Operating Instructions (POI) and verbal instructions.
  • Run machine at required cycle time.
  • Monitor machine for malfunctions and report them to the supervisor or designee.
  • Ensure the machine does not close on molded product and/or inserts.
  • Verify parts meet quality standards, review samples, and identify rejects and reasons for rejection.
  • Code rejects in the RT system and notify the supervisor or lead.
  • Process parts per POI and customer quality standards, which may include trimming, sanding, cutting, assembling, twisting, boxing, and packaging.
  • Keep an accurate count of all parts, manually or using scales.
  • Fill out work orders and labels accurately and legibly, verifying lot numbers.
  • Communicate effectively with other employees and notify the oncoming operator of any problems.
  • Monitor and stock necessary equipment for jobs and notify the supervisor or lead of any needs.
  • Make suggestions for procedural improvements.
  • Keep the work area clean, neat, and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
